Date for FOLD topping-out ceremony is set
This afternoon representatives of several work packages, task forces of Team DTU focusing of specific aspects concerning FOLD, and the faculty members met up to discuss some crucial issues with regard to the project.
Getting settled on the date for the topping out ceremony of complete FOLD with all the installations and design elements in place – May 14th – was one of the most exciting news of the day. After working for already more than a year on the project noting this date in the calendars gives a certain sense of achievement, as well as a strong motivation to keep on working: there are two deliverables awaiting before the competition in September, and still a lot of work to be done.
Next deliverable will be due on May 23rd, and it means that the preparation planning should be settled, as well as the coordination of the task forces. In order to be sure to have everything done in good time, several team members came up with key deadlines on the way to Deliverable #5 and presented the updated detailed Gantt schedule of tasks.
Thinking ahead about the competition we also discussed the finals in September in Madrid. Many are willing to come and experience the competition, but September is also a start of the new semester. This poses a problem for defining who will be coming to Spain to represent Denmark with FOLD. But the solution went straight ahead: basing the decisions on the task forces will give an overview of how many members should be present at which point of time.
Current week will be full of important meetings for the team, so keep updated with the blog to follow the coming news!
