Press visit to FOLD and the process of installing the solar panels
This week FOLD has a lot of visitors, and more will come next week! Today, Friday 8th, is an important day for the construction process – the solar panels are being put up. The crew from Filmbureauet came to film this process and interview one of the students, Søren, who described how solar energy is used at FOLD. Follow the construction process by looking at the most recent pictures here!
Thanks to the public relations department of Schneider Electric, one of our sponsors, representatives from six publications specialized in the field of electricity came to see FOLD today. These publications are: “Elektrikeren”, “Elteknik”, “Installations Nyt”, “Installatør Horisont”, “Drift, vedligehold go økonomi”, “Electra”. Students working with control systems, electricity, heating and cooling took the journalists on a tour in the house, describing the systems that are installed and how they will be used. Later on the representatives of Schneider Electric continued talking with the journalists during a meeting in a more usual atmosphere, in one of the meeting rooms booked at DTU. This is a great opportunity for Team DTU to be represented to the specialists in the electricity field, and we are looking forward to more articles about FOLD appearing in press. When they appear, we will share them on our special Press page, where all the mass media mentions and press releases are published.
Earlier this week, on Thursday June 7th, Ulrik and Lise from the team presented Team DTU and Solar Decathlon to DTU alumni. This presentation took place in terms of the event celebrating the 40- and 50- years alumni jubilee of DTU. It involved a presentation by the director of DTU Anders Bjarklev, presentation about the production of biochemicals by professor Alex Toftgaard Nielsen from DTU Biosustain, and a guided tour of the campus by the director of the campus Jacob Steen Møller. There have also been presentations of other student projects at DTU. The stand with the 1:25 model of FOLD, posters, brochures and postcards that was used during the presentation will remain in the library during June – everyone is welcome to come by and learn more about the project!
Note the date: next Saturday, June 16th, Team DTU opens FOLD for the public! The Open Door Day will start at 14 and you will able to take part in a public tour to learn more about the house and the Solar Decathlon competition.
